General Information

Our group maximum is 12 riders.

The age limit is 5 years* of age to come on the trails without a safety lead. 5 & 6 yr olds will be on a safety lead throughout the ride if the guides think it is necessary.

* During the tuition process we are able to assess everyone’s confidence and ability. We treat everyone as an individual.

Safety is our number one priority, for riders and horses alike. Even for the adult riders the only way we can ensure safety is for everyone to be willing to learn and take direction from our guides.

Up to four guides may accompany each ride to ensure everyone gets enough attention, no pressure is put on beginner riders and more experienced riders still get the opportunity to have a faster paced ride.

Before every ride a one-on-one tuition is given to each rider teaching riding techniques and comfort, also an explanation of your chosen horse is given informing you of their different personalities and traits. To avoid disappointment, book ahead, especially in the school holiday periods.

Customers must be made aware of the following:

  • All persons under the age of 18 yrs must either be accompanied by and adult/guardian or have a Public Liability Release form signed by their parent or guardian before departure, this can be done at the pick up point.
  • Helmets are compulsory and are supplied.
  • Before every ride, riders agree to participate in our tuition on how to ride and control your horse.
  • All riders ride at their own risk.
  • All riders must sign a Liability Release Form prior to ride.
  • We recommend all riders have their own travel insurance and ambulance cover.

Just because it is raining where you are doesn’t mean it is raining here! Being in the mountains means the weather can vary from the coast. We will make the call whether the ride is on or not, you will be contacted at least one hour prior to your booked ride if the ride is cancelled.
We will not take out a ride in miserable or dangerous weather, but the odd shower never hurts anyone and the horses certainly don’t mind!

If it is necessary to postpone a ride due to weather, unsafe riding conditions or any other unforeseen circumstances then there are no refunds, however, moneys are transferable to another ride or other activity offered by Bellrowan Valley Horse Riding to be taken within the time limits stated below and also provided on dates that are available.

Deposits are not refundable, however, are transferable to another ride to be taken within 6 months. If less notice is given than stated for either of the rides and no ride is taken within the 6 months, then the deposit and any other moneys paid are forfeited.

For overnight packages and Pub Ride, if you are travelling from a distance we suggest you have travel insurance, we cannot accept any responsibility for any extra costs incurred due to the postponement of any ride due to unforeseen circumstances e.g weather
